I am considering going to study for my masters once things get back to normal and my course is offered both in the US and Canada and relatively cost around the same in tuition, but I wanted to know which country will be a better environment considering opportunities after study.

Canada will be a better option because the policies in the USA are becoming unfavourable.
I think you should also consider the quality of the program at both the US & Canada. The quality of the program will also affect what opportunities there are after study. Take aerospace for instance, the US is known to be an authority in it and Canada doesn't come close, so if you're looking to study anything aerospace related, I'd surely advise you to goto the US with the booming industry giants like Boeing and Lockheed. So consider the program you're going to study and how the industry fairs in both countries too.
Canada. I believe the United States only gives 1 year for work studies after grad school for international students.
So far Canada has a better plan and opportunities for students. As soon as you are done with your studies, you are eligible to work for some years depending on how many years you spent studying. And you can apply for your PR after one year of working. Hope this helps. Best of luck.
