We often hear about Africans, especially Nigerians and Ghanaians, committing Cyber Crimes in the US, but we seldom hear about same issue in the UK. Why is this so?
The cybersecurity laws in the U.S is not that extensive. However when it comes to trailing these cyber criminals, the U.S takes the mantle. it’s more like they set the trap for you and make it easy for you to infiltrate but, they’re watching you and ready to pounce. Either way I still wouldn’t underestimate the U.S when it comes to the grit and the grime of catching these criminals.
As an African that has lived in the UK for a few years now and have friends living in the US, i think this is mainly due to the UK cyber security framework that has taken years to develop and implement, relative to the US.
The financial system in the UK is very robust and integrated, so are business systems, this makes tracking or following the money very easy. In addition, there are stricter anti money laundering and cyber security regulations that makes it harder to commit such crimes.
Further, the UK's immigration policy also prevents illegal immigrants a lot. People that would be more tempted to indulge in such crimes relative to the US.

I think it's generally because of the justice system in the UK especially the cybersecurity laws.
